At least on a F5, a torker II is about it for an intake on stock hood. Patrickt, thanks for the new background pic on my touchpad!

In my SPF, I'm running a 385 series big block (460 stroked to a 514.)
Has a Torker II intake, Holley double pumper and a Ford Cobra Oval air filter.
The filter element is an S&B 875-W-2250-01. 2.25" tall in case you can't tell from the P/N. The setup is close but fits and does fine.

That Torker 2 intake is probably about the best scenario for the hood clearance that's available.

It sure sounds like the hood needs to be modified in order to get a proper intake and air filter in a SPF. I don't think I would want to have a bada** motor built and then strangle it with a not so stellar intake and air filter. What are you guys doing for the headers? I know that SPF offers 460 headers but if they are anything like the other headers they offer then I'm sure they don't line up with the ports very well on aftermarket cylinder heads. Firelfly has port matching Kasse P51 2" headers but they are $$$$$$$ but I guess if your going to do it right you that's the price you pay. What other option are out there for custom headers....what size ID side pipes would you need to be running on a 557ci setup.
