1999 mkiii

Going to be looking at a 1999 MKIII next week. Anything specific I should be looking for? Any mods I should anticipate doing?

The fun begins,
Dates on Tires, many low mileage cars still have their original tires.
The rear top shock mounts should be looked at. Most likely, at minimum, the bolts should be replaced, but there is a nice upgraded bracket available. They should be perpendicular to the chassis where they mount. The usual under-car leaks. (FYI: they all leak something) Ask for service records too. Visually check the antifreeze. Test drive the car not just passenger in it. Age of battery. Check operation of temp gauges, lighting, etc. Always good to see the radiator fans cycle on and off automatically when car is hot.
If you buy it, there are some simple electrical maintenance and upgrades you can/should easily do too.
Feel free to PM me or email me. I can give you my phone # for questions
