Lost a hub cap
The other day I went to a Haggerty Insurance sponsored track day at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac Michigan. I gave the tires and brakes a good workout on the 3rd track session, then parked back in the paddock area. As I was lowering the tire pressure for the drive home, the front-left hub cap went "pop" and fell on the ground. It was quite warm to the touch because of the hard braking and I believe pressure built up in the hub and blew it off.
Two questions: 1. How do you keep this caps on the car? Drill a vent hole and plug it with grease? or take them all off before you track the car? ... 2. Where can you buy replacement caps? |
Most likely the hub got warm enough to soften the O-ring causing the loss. You can put a couple daps of silicone adhesive on the O-ring which will retain the cap but still allow removal.
We suggest removing the caps before track time. We do have caps in stock. |
Thanks. I'll give you a call.
