SPF 289 roadster wanted

Just posted in the wanted section of the forum:

Had SPS 0034 , but let it go at a time I was lacking garage space and too many convertibles. Now in search of a replacement.

Prefer BRG or a dark blue, with 289 FIA style rollbar already installed. Will consider others

Up front, I am not looking for a new build, prefer something already on the road, perhaps sitting, collecting dust in a garage.

Want a nice, quiet sale for my personal use, I may be your guy.

Serious inquiries only please.

Bill,

Sorry, this is not collecting dust but rather collecting road dirt. No roll bar so I can't sell it to you. Of course, I am not selling it anyhow, so all moot. Just gotta mess with you.

Shoulda kept that 289 I delivered.....

In regards to yours shown, no rollbar, wrong color, soiled drivers seat, and I'd hate to be pulled over by a K9 unit :JEKYLHYDE

As for 0034, I tried, but it found it's original dealer buying it back for resale (marked it up 30K because of the SB100 paperwork) before I could find a buyer for my FIA.....One had to go, both had their chance to stay, fate decided at the time.

Sir, I take umbrage at that remark! The driver's seat is a natural leather variation! And pray tell, what is YOUR definition of "dark blue", I may be color blind, but invite the people here to weigh in.

The car has been cleared by our grand dog, Teddy, he thought it smelled just fine, probably due to the Milk Bones stored behind the seats.

@Mr. Mustang ;) And I may be your guy on 2080 Bill :) , I believe there may be a law in SC about owning 2-nice Cobras, I've checked no such law exist here in WA, so I'm your man to take 2080 to Washington state. And after I spent almost 1 solid week (7-full days to you & I) looking for a TR-4A/TR-250 for you ;) Cheers Buddy Boy.

This is not exactly what you are looking for but does check some boxes: https://www.cobracountry.com/cars-fo...obra-brubaker/

I know the owner and had the SPF built.

Jeff,

It's a beautiful car, I like it, alot, but I'm not a retail type of guy. I suspect it will be sold within the next 30-60 days.

Tom,

Maybe the red 66 "C" code, factory AC and power top, Mustang convertible would be more to your liking at 35K with the disk brake swap kit and center console included, but not installed ;)

It seems to me that this is the correct color, it's just that the lighting here isn't very flattering, and I also think the color appears duller because the car is a bit dusty.

Currently it is really dirty from a return drive from Watkins Glen in the rain. Ankle surgery put me out of driving condition after that, so it was put up for the winter in "as driven" shape. Eventually it will get cleaned.

If it had fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror, I think it would be more enticing.

All kidding aside, sorry to hear about the ankle surgery, here is hoping for a speedy recovery. In regards to the dust and dirt, leave it, along with stone chips, some of us view that as a badge of honor.

Bill,

You should have been there to see Rick driving with the top down through a torrential rain storm and lightning storm on the way back from the track to the place we were staying. He was still trying to dry the car out three days later

Been there, done that, far too many times. Both on and off the track...

PS: You know how much a 3 layer, 1 piece fire suit weighs when it gets wet

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do know how much those weigh soaking wet Bill ;)

Let's just say the ride back to NJ from Pocono was a unique experience. After the morning session I had to borrow a large phillips head screwdriver and punch two holes in each dropped footbox as the water was high enough to reach below the seat mounts. I should never have listened to the forecast coming out of NYC which stated a 10% chance of a passing shower. Then again, I should have forced my way in to a paddock garage, pushing the folks out of the way having their group picnic where my car could have safely been. Not 100% dry, but better than the golf umbrella a friend loaned me to keep over the seat.

Seems like only yesterday, but looking back, we are now talking 22+ years ago. Boy does time fly.
