I think you do all right. I might have been tempted to do the same swap.
Was it an even swap? |

The deal was close to a straight across trade. I gave them my Pantera and some dinero. But, not a bad deal for either of us. Park Place is a great bunch of people. I also own a 2003 SVT Cobra which I got from them. It only had a bit over 3,000 miles on it too. It now makes 450rwhp with 461 tq. Here are my two snakes.... http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8587/cobrasdg0.jpg |
I have been on their website many times and they seem to have quality automobiles.
When you get a chance, I would like to hear your thoughts about Pantera ownership. I have wanted one since the early 70's, and have come close to pulling the trigger. But with some of the issues with them, I have always opted for something else. Currently, I check the Pantera sites just about everynight. My 1st color of choice is Grabber Blue. There was one on PI that did not last long. |
Hey congratulations man! I am glad you like the car. Your pics are great!

The earlier cars ('71/'72) had minor electrical issues.. but, look a little better on the outside (no big bumpers). The later cars ('73/74) have better electrical systems and the single pod style dash (the early cars have a two pod dash). Anyway, all the little problems with Pantera's can easily be taken care of. And OMG... a good running and sounding Pantera is a SWEEEEEET thing. As I said before... I WILL own another Pantera some day.. It will come from PI... and, I'll park it right next to my SuperFormance Cobra. |
Congrats on the SPF! Have fun, but take a little time to get familiar with the power and the fact that you only have a 90" wheelbase before getting too crazy. -It doesn't handle like your Pantera OR your 'Stang ! The 392 crate is a very popular choice for a lot of Cobra replicas (I know a couple guys with them myself) and it has been pretty reliable. If (I mean....WHEN) you get to the point of wanting more HP, do a search here on CC because there has been a lot of discussion on the power upgrades for the 392. Heck, just changing out the GT40x heads for a pair of AFR 185 or 205's will give you an extra 70-90 HP according to my buddies that have done this.
-Welcome to the Madness! Have fun, be careful, and (most of all) thank you for your service. Terry |
Oh yea, it's gona get more power. All my cars usually do! I was already thinking about the heads too.
