How much $$ for a set of three of those clamps? |
Blocking the Wind
Hi Rob (Again)
My mind is a little mushy this AM...That's the reason for this second post (Maybe even a third later) I went back and read the original posts...Question...Did you ever get around to trying the screen system or plastic with holes in it to eliminate the buffeting problem? You said that you pulled the CNC program for the brackets...Have you made any since and are they available? Last...Instead of me getting Reno to figure out how to make the proper parts and plastic, you've already figured it out. Is there time in your schedule to make the entire system and ship it to me? If so, could we talk on the phone or PM for costs, fit, etc.? Thanks again, Ivan |
65 Cobra1,
When you make your trip to La., I live near Shreveport and would be glad to assist if you need anything. I have an uncle that lives in Houma. That sounds like a cool trip! Toby |

If you do not want them, I would love to set up the shield on my Cobra. Do not throw the brackets away. |
Blocking the Wind
Hi Warren,
I promise you I'll not throw them away. They look very cool. I really need six and intend to duplicate Rob's setup as best I can. By the way, I just realized that the title of this thread could be indicative of an internal problem.:JEKYLHYDE Also, a note to all who have sent PMs re our long trip...Thank you very much in case I missed answering your e-mail. I will seriously consider your input. Ivan |

Blocking The Wind!
The acrylic "rollbar" pieces look like a good idea! I'm a professional fabricator,{www.outfrontdesign.com }[acrylic, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.] and getting very close to driving my Superformance #2454 for the first time! If I can be of any assistance in fabricating any particular parts for this project, or any other project, please let me know! Marty Heller/Sawadeedude

Rob,
I received the brackets...Thank you very much...I still don't have my car. We go to Reno on the 28th to shake it down and see what my wife's impression is after spending a couple of days in the Cobra running around Nevada. We'll then know which car to take for the long trip. The car should be delivered to us during the first part of April. I'll then be looking for a local machinist to duplicate three more brackets for the second roll bar. When it's all fabricated, I'll take pics and post them and/or send you several angles so you can see how it all came out. SAWADEEDUDE, I am going to see if there is some local source to fab the lexan (Or plastic) if not, I'll contact you. I appreciate the offer. BY the way, we used to race a couple of times a week at O'Hare stadium (Melrose Park, IL) ...Is it still there? Regards, Ivan |
The O'Hare Stadium is long gone. I went there as a teenager to watch the stock cars and demolition derby's. Don't know when it was closed.
|
Gosh! Too bad!
We used to mainly run at O'Hare and Soldiers Field. The Granatelli Gang (STP, Paxton blowers, Etc.) used to promote Soldiers Field which I understand is also closed to racing. Thanks for the update. Ivan |
O'Hare Stadium closed in 1968.....

Rob, is there enough play in the aluminum so those brackets can be installed without removing the roolbar?
I apologize if this question is redundant! I am interested also!! |
