Superformance horn

Have any of you replaced the horn in your car? If so, what did you use?
Mine sounds like a sick cow.

Thanks, John

Sick Cow?

John,

You might want to verify that your current horn has a good ground. I haven't replaced my horn as it works well and is pretty loud. From previous experience I would recommend checking the ground before replacing the horn. Just my $.02 on the subject.

:D :D :D

I just installed a 135 db Stebel horn that has the two-tone air horn sound similar to a Ferrari. I love it. It wired right up. The instructions spoke of a relay and all this, but it plugged right in. I put it in the driver's side fenderwell where the old one came out, but I want to move it more centered.

I got this one:

You can hear them all on:

Thanks alot. I'll look into the ground issue. My horn (plastic) is on the passenger side. Mine may have be messed with.

My "horn" is activated by the pedal under my right foot.

The factory horns on any Cobra are strictly for saying "Hel-lo" in a friendly (almost comical) manner. With the SPF horn button in the middle of the dash, in a panic situation it's about as worthless as t*** on a hog. Though I do like the sound of the one in the link above!

Get a real locomotive air horn. Why fool around with a sissy horn? Dean will probably get one and have it chrome plated :)

Hey! I have scientific evidence that chrome is faster than paint. ;)

I redid my horn by installing two repro horns from the Little British Car Co that they sell for AH, Triumph etc replacements. I think they have a British sound to them but I'm probably dreaming **) **) Anyway they are a huge improvement on the single blecch stock SPF horn

I installed a pair of the Hella (I think) horns from Griot's. They're an improvement but not nearly loud enough. I'm looking for something LOUD and small enough to mount in the grille opening somewhere.
