VIN/inspection in NY
I have been told that the car has to go through an inspection in order to get a VIN. The inspection is to verify that there are no stolen parts on the car.
I was also told (this bothers me) that you pull the car in and they ask you to leave the room while they inspect it. Is this true about leaving the room? Is the inspection necessary since the car is essentially new w. receipts. Thanks! |
strange. i'll be registering my SPF in Mass, so don't know yet what hurdles I have to go through there....

CB,
I am heading to inspection in NJ tomorrow (it was cancelled twice in the past two weeks due to rain). The head inspector told me they will put the car on a lift and go over it for about an hour. I too was told that you are not allowed to watch. I have no problems with them "inspecting" the car, but I am having nightmares about some state employee pulling my car on a lift. |
