Best polish for sidepipes

I did a quick search, but couldn't find any recommendations regarding the best polish for SPF sidepipes. Can I use Mother's Billet on the sidepipes?

I used Billet on the wheels...awesome stuff!

Try "Flitz" very good or "Heavy Metal" - excellent on exhaust chrome, polished or stainless

Yup. I'm surprised how well it works on other coatings like ceramics.

Not to get off the subject here...
But try this for your glass and chrome maintenance...
Fill a spray bottle with:
1/3 white vinegar
1/3 isopropyl alcohol (that's just rubbing alcohol)
1/3 distilled water (or regular non-well water)
Shake to combine and go clean a glass, ceramic or chrome surface -
Remember - NEVER use paper towels -
You'll throw away your Windex forever...

JBo;

I looked in your gallery. I don't know if I'd want to try Flitz or Heavy Metal polishes after seeing what they did to YOUR sidepipes!!

Why no paper towels?
What do you use?
Does it smell too much like a salad?

Paper scratches glass etc. after time....

scootter 08-01-2007 02:45 PM

Paper towels scratch the heck out of painted surfaces.
Doug,

I go to a local truck shop and get a bottle of Zepher polish ( blueish green bottle) and a bottle of What a Shine ( pink bottle). They work excellent on all metal surfaces, chrome, stainless, ceramic coated, aluminum, ect ( not painted surfaces). The pink for very dirty, and the Zepher for maintenace. I use it on all the metal sufaces on my car and motorcyles. I have even used it to polish up old antiques. I buy it at Coast Couties Peterbuilt on 4th street in San Jose.

Paper

I learned something today.

You bare right, I dont have side pipes, but I've used flitz on last foot or tail pipes and spats. watch a fellow at Greens here in NJ polish a set of heavily blued headers with heavy metal and wow.

I have tried them all and nothing I have found even come close to Exotic Metal Polish. If it is made of any kind of metal this stuff will shne it better and MUCH easier. Very little elbow grease required and there is nothing you can do to screw it up or damage anything. It is awesome.

Anything you buy from Cobra Valley will be top notch.

RonNichols 08-11-2007 10:13 PM

So Gary,

Would you say this stuff is the Chuck Norris of metal polishes? If that were the case, you probably wouldn't need any elbow grease at all. They would polish themselves out of fear.:D
