Broken Flywheel Teeth

I have a Roush 402R with a Tremec TKO600 trans. I have had it about 6-months and have about 1200 miles on it. The starter was making noises like it was not engaging properly. I replaced the starter and it made the same noise the first time, the second time I could here the starter but the motor would not turn. I pulled the starter and found about 3-inches of teeth were missing from the flywheel.

Have any of you had this happen? Do you know what caused it? Would they fix it under warranty?

Thanks,

Ken 2560

Possibly a mismatch in tooth count between the starter and the ring gear.
I'd present it to them for warranty consideration if they installed the starter
and ring gear.

I have an email in to the installer, but the flywheel and starter came direct from Roush.

Thanks

Yes it should be covered, as you said Roush supplied all the parts involved, especially if you had a Roush dealer install your drivetrain. Good luck,

Daryl

Thanks, and yes a Roush dealer did the install. I talked to him today and I am going to send him some pictures so he can get things rolling. I was just very surprized to have this happen. It is the same set up that is put on a lot of the cars.

Thanks again,

Ken 2560
