See if Pertronix makes a pickup unit that fits in your MSD Distributor. Then you will be able do away with the Duraspark.

I checked the mag pickup and it is fluctuating 1 milliamp so it appears it is good. Have not had time to work on it lately hope to get back on this weekend. Thanks for the info.
