Paint Color

I have tried a number of body shops and the local Superformance dealer, Park Place Motors, and no one can help me come up with some paint so I can touch up the rock chips.

I have the tint numbers, but the body shops still need the paint code.

So, the car is number 532, built in 1999 and is yellow with black stripes. Not concerned about the black, but if anyone can turn me on the paint code, or a source for yellow touch up paint I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Try an auto paint supply company. They should be able to do a color match that should be accurate.

Cars 201 to 699
These cars were painted using Glasurit Paint

Color Yellow
(Paint Toner) (Grams Per: 1 Liter) (Grams Per: 2 Liter)
(M40) (1221.5) (3664.5)
(M60) (1304.6) (3904.8)
(A135) (1312.1) (3936.3)
(M96) (1313.4) (3940.2)

Age may alter the color some too remember.
Hope this helps

Update: It was pointed out the the 1 Liter amount and the 2 Liter amounts conflict - I have a second source that suggest that it's actually 3 Liters not 2 Liters - with makes more sence with the math....sorry for the confusion.

I think all Superformance colours are actually BMW-paints - and Glasurit is a German manufacturer. So you may try to get a BMW-paint chart from '99 and you will more than likely find your yellow ;)

I own SPF642, silver w black. The Glasurit code for the silver is M99/11 100% 100% (whatever that means). I have never been able to get touch-up paint, Recently I contacted www.paintscratch.com , they told me they had everything. 3 days later they told me no such code! What's an owner to do?

Possibly that's an incomplete code? I had great results from PaintScratch.com - I mean, anyone who has Lamborghini paint codes on tap is good. Do you know how many paint codes Lambo has for silver?

I ended up going to an automotive paint supply store and they used a scanner to read the color. Using that information they mixed me a half pint of paint. They then did a color matching tint and it was perfect.

I do have to add that to my old eyes, the color was so close prior to the color matching tint, that I could not tell the difference, but they could.

I ordered my car in the fall of 2004. SPF was using PPG Global at that time, not sure about now. I ordered mine a custom color from SPF. All I needed to give them was the paint code, and some extra moolah.
PPG should be able to help you.

Glasurit is tricky stuff. -- get the advise of a talented body shop in your area.
