headers side pipes and rollbar
how hard is it to remove the roll bar from a spf cobra? just wanted to get it chromed instead of the black color. and also headers and side pipes..... how hard is it to remove from the car ? they are painted black and would like to ceramic coat them, any tips on removal of the 2 item i mentioned?
thanks |
Removal of the headers and side pipes is pretty straight forward. If you have a small block the headers can be removed with the engine in the car. If you have an FE or big block, you'll have to raise the engine some in order to remove the headers.
I've not removed the roll bar but again I think its pretty straight forward. Maybe someone with experience here will chime in with some pointers. Good luck! :3DSMILE::3DSMILE::3DSMILE: |
Johns pipes thread talks about removal http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/superformance/89110-side-pipes.html

Roll bar removal
It comes out fairly easy. Just remove the bolt above the drive shaft, the ones on the rear strut, and the one inside the trunk; and it just slide up and out. It sets on steel pins that the bolts go thru. I switch mine from the chrome one for street use to a taller thicker one for the track.
Good luck, TL |
I would recomend getting the roll bar and side pipes ceramic coated . I believe that ceramics will have better corrosion resistance and will look nicer in the long run. This is a pic of the roll bar and side pipes ceramic coated . http://performancekote.net/currentprojects.aspx
