How many SPFs?

Hi all,

A quick question...roughly how many SPFs have been produced/built so far?

Paul

If you are looking at 2792 my guess would be it was delivered around 1/08 a rather new chassis. I know of three early 281? delivered in April.

Yes my SPF is #2782, but it's also a Right Hand Drive Cobra.

I was advised that the number sequencing could get a little out of shape when comparing LHD & RHD cars due to the factory making a batch of RHDs chassis's at the same time and then storing them until RHD orders come in! What I do not know is how long a chassis can be "stored" before it's picked up as a RHD build, or at what stage the SPF number is allocated to the Chassis?

My completed rolling SPF chassis was delivered to me in Australia at the beginning of May 08, but I'm pretty sure that it was finished in South Africa just before Christmas in 2007 because I was advised at the time that it was held up in South Africa as a result of the Strike that the factory had late 2007/early 2008.

Anyway, based on your advise that you have seen 3 early 281? cars delivered April 2008, it looks like the numbering sequence might be about right anyway?

Regards.....Paul

Superformance now has a listing of some of the cars in their dealers inventory. The highest chassis number that they have listed is 2871.

"South Africa as a result of the Strike that the factory had late 2007/early 2008".

Does anyone know for sure if the aforementioned statement is true?

Looks like they were on strike in 2007.

I hope Hi-tech stood their ground and not give into the union. If not you can expect car prices to increase, quality and quantity to decrease.

They were on strike over a year ago, so any lingering impact is probably long gone. I'm sure there were plenty of cars in the dealer pipeline at the time, and nobody even noticed the strike.
