'AMPS' bulb out

Got a 5 year old SPF here. The AMPS bulb is out. I know it should be an easy fix but do any of you guys have any tips about fixing this? Any weird problems I might encounter?
Also, my dimmer (LOL, ,more like ON/OFF/ON/OFF/MAYBE ON) knob is funky. Do you guys know if its bad/dirty/typical?
Thanks.

Bulb pulls right out in back of the gauge. Bulb may not be burned out , maybe just pulled out of the socket. I have a photo of the back of the gauge if you like. Send me a message with your email address. Gauge is all plastic. It's a tight area for big hands. Those 2 big red wires on the back of the gauge are always "hot" so I suggest you disconnect the battery when you work around the AMP meter. Their just like a battery cables. Regarding the dimmer switch, what car # do you have? There were 3 styles of dimmer boards. Many people eliminate the dimmer because 100% "ON" is still not bright enough with Smith's gauges...a very old design.

easiest way to do this is pop out the spedo or tach and use it as a hand access point to the AMP gauge.

you will need to grasp the tail end of the bulb / socket with your first and index finger together like you were grasping a cigarette or trying to un-do your girlfriend's bra strap when you were 16.

as blas states -disco the battery for zero surprises.

disconnect batt

Is the red kill switch in the trunk good enough (safe enough) todisconnect the battery? Does it disconnect the battery completely or just the starter?

That should kill everything. Click it off and check a few things, headlights, horn, etc...
