Terlingua SPF on Cobra Country
I'm not connected to the sale, but I saw this Superformance on Cobra Country for $53K. The paint scheme is a little bit of a commitment, but I really like the look.

Hi,
It's actually my car for sale. Those are vinyl graphics that can be taken off if someone wanted a solid black car. the car looks great either way.The graphics were added in 2008 to give it a different look. I don't recall the actual racing number but I have seen pictures of a car Shelby raced in the late 60's with the same graphics. It isn't for everyone but they can be taken off in about 30 minutes to have a solid black car. Ron Scottsdale, Az |

The vinyl graphics are so clear, I was convinced they were painted on. It's a real bonus that you can easily change the look. BTW - Where did you buy the product related graphics? Your car looks awesome. Best of luck on the sale! |
Thanks. I love driving the car but it must go. Actually the graphics were on there when I bought the car back last year. I am not sure where he purchased them from.

BeeeeYutiful! Absolutely love the look.

I would appreciate everyone's opinion on whether I should leave the Yellow Terlingua graphics on or if people think it would sell faster back in solid black? Fire Away!

If I'd known about that set up I'd have done my car that way. I love it, so I'd leave it on.

Ron,
I think the graphics make the car stand out and you should leave them on. Just make it clear in your ad that they can easily be removed. You may have already touched on this before in a previous post, but how does the car perform with the automatic and paddle shifters? |
The regular automatic mode makes the car very easy to drive (My wife won't touch my csx to drive it but she drove this one easily) When you flip the switch though to manual it drives like a different animal. I was pleasantly suprised that it can shift faster than a manual in terms of response time and in my opinion makes the car faster than if it had a stick

Keep 'Em...
...Just make it clear they're easily removeable, and you'll do so at the buyer's request.
Short bit o' history on the Terlingua Team, funny to...:D http://www.carmemories.com/cgi-bin/v...perience_id=94 And another, little more in depth... http://www.teamshelby.com/plugins/p2..._articleid=217 |
Just curious, is the yellow stripe over the front apron removable?
As said above, if the advertisement mentions the fact that the graphics are removable, then leave them on. Personally, I love the look. Best of luck with the sale. |
Yes the yellow stripe is removeable as well. I believe he had a vinyal compnay here in town do the yellow stripes. Thanks for the input

How do the graphics & stripe handle waxing & cleaning? Do they build up a white "edge" with wax? Are they easy to damage or tear?
-Thanks |
I have found I do have to be careful or I get the edge curling up. When that has happened a carefully applied heat gun gets it stuck back down. I haven't had much of a problem with wax buildup as long as I am careful not to put too much on and be careful with the direction I wipe it off. That is only on the small yellow letters. I have zero problems with the manufacturer stickers

I would leave the graphics on, it makes the car stand out.
I thought the engine was built by Keith Craft? I thought I remember seeing a write-up in Kit car about the build... is this the same car? |
Keith builds a fantastic engine but this particular one was ordered through Ford Racing Division and the car was built by Anthem Motors in Phoenix in 2006.

I've thought of doing a Terlingua too. It looks awesome!
Very accurate too. Here's one of the "real" ones at Mid America last year (CSX 4071) A great thing about the yellow nose stripe is that you can repaint the nose of the car if it gets scratched or nicked. Otherwise, you get to paint the whole front half back to the windshield. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...2/IMG_0962.jpg |
For your graphic needs. they have a great selection of cobra decals and even have stencils for Avons and GoodYear BBs.
