Interesting, when I did the rear brake upgrade, I found it very very easy to not get the spring seated correctly. You really have to be careful.

I had exactly the same issue. Turns out it was the brake pads moving around.

Make sure your regular brake pads have retaining clips. Mine didn't and they don't make them for mine, so I moved the pads from the passenger side to the driver's side.

Clanking disappeared. Another option would be new pads I guess.

Any solution?

Did anyone get the bottom of thos one? I have the heavy clanking sound at low revs as well so would love to hear if we had a solution

Strange as this might sound, you might want to check the roll bar mounts and the fuel tank mounting.

Just a suggestion.

:D

Double check your sway bar connections - especially the bushings. I also had one other clanking sound that was driving me bananas - it turned out to be a loose baffle inside the fuel tank itself and only happened when I was below half a tank. Good luck with it, though, but track it down for safety's sake as well as your peace of mind.:)

Mine makes the same noises and I have tightened everything there is and nothing was really loose. It is a light car and when you go over bumps and such, things move and clank.

If you ever listen to a Cup car going down pit lane they make the same noises. Certainly check everything but my advice would not to be to upset or worrided about it. It is not a cadillac or new corvette, it is going to make some noises and things will leak, it's all part of the experience.

On my SPF the Right Rear nut that holds the wheel assembly on bottomed out and was not tightened down completely. That cauesd a noise that I didnt notice for some time due to how loud the car is. I had to take it down the road and shut it down at speed to get a better feel for where the noise was coming from. Anyway, when the car is jacked up there was movement in the wheel when I shook it by placing my hands on the top and bottom of the tire.

turns out the wheel assbly was defective and they sent me a new one. All good now.

Another thing to inspect...

I disagree. My SPF has 5k miles and I am completely squeak and rattle free. Its one of the things that impresses me about the car. I wouldnt consider it to be "normal". Squeeks and rattles drive me nutz, I'd work to find it. It may indicate somthing is about to become unsafe.

Also, check the E-brake. If it is not adjusted perfectly that will rattle as well. I have the disc on the drive shaft version. SCOF has a great tutorial on how to adjust. You wont figure it out by just looking at it. You have to use an additional nut to make the adjustment.

my brothers car, with a 460 also has a clunk noise to it when hitting the gas, mind you.. its not a hard launch, just your standard take off from a stop.
upon closer inspection, we noticed that one of the rear end mounts had broke thru the mounting bracket. it has a T bird rear in it. its the mount that is on both sides of the rear end, passenger side.(looks like a small hockey puck wth a bolt thru it. its broken where the "hockey pucks" bolts to the frame. maybe check there to see it you have any cracks or it might just be broken thru like my brothers.
good way to check, car off.. put it in gear look under car toward rear end area, (bottom of diff and axels) and have someone rock the car front to back real good and see if anything is jumping around, like the rear diff or axel where they connect to the diff.
