CSX 9000 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe

"The new model will be allocated CSX9000 series chassis numbers and will come complete with a Shelby-issued MSO certificate and Chassis tag."

“The new CSX 9000 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe will replace the SPF Daytona Coupe and this famous marque will in future only be marketed as a Shelby product”, says Lance Stander, President of Shelby Distribution USA of Irvine, CA.

This is supposed to be a serious revision to the Coupe platform now sold under the Shelby Name, ---one wonders if there is a full CSX-SPF merger in the works.

Shoot-- if actual people fit in them -- I could be convinced.

I wonder where the aluminum bodies will be made? Will they have "Made in Utah" stamped somewhere? :)

So if there is one less vehicle for Shelby to endorse and get paid for, are they going to have to pay him twice as much to only have one"official" coupe? It wont make the FFR people too happy as he will have 1 less compnay to sue and will probably spend more time and money trying to go after them:MECOOL:

Spoke with Lance at Shelby Distribution for a bit today , - this 9000 series Coupe has been 4 years in the making and the first 2 unit went to a good customer. (who has been waiting over a year)

There is a 3rd 9xxx that is in port (in long beach) and they are trying to get it released so they can truck it up to Monterey , but that looks very doubtful based on timing.

In short; So this MKII coupe is everything they thought up after building the first generation.

The CSX9000 concept came up after someone was able to obtain a CSX number for their coupe (not sure which #) , and then other people wanted CSX numbers on their coupes,-- and so on.

This MKII coupe has been in the percolator for a while, -- there were just so many things I was (personally) uncomfortable with in the MKI coupe. I am excited to see that the MKII is here (basically)

Just like any technology, you learn so much after you ship the thing. --

Lance also was dancing in the streets about the Corvette Grand-Sport project, and with GMs support for that , the Replica Car business will be booming in 2010 and beyond.

Looking forward to seeing the CSX 9000 --

Steve
