Which voltmeter?

I'm looking for a voltmeter to replace my ammeter. I've found these 3:

(You may have to scroll down in each link to see the voltmeter.)

Kirkham has one for $96.01. Has a larger range and full sweep dial, similar look to the Smith pressure/temperature gauges.

An original Smith for $68.20. Identical look to the Lucas ammeter.

A VDO for $26.99. Best price, similar look to the Smith pressure/temperature gauges.

Any experience with any of the 3 above?

Didn't the VDO gauges come as OEM on the Backdrafts at one time?

Anyone running any of Kirkham's gauges? I like the looks the best, but I don't know anything about them. Is the quality that much better to justify the price?

Smiths will match your other gauges, the new KMS (Revolution) and Shelby (Autometer) gauges are manufactured then relabeled for them. Smiths are Smiths and Peter Bayer will stand behind them.

If you have Smiths, I'd stay with Smiths. The Kirkham gauges are pretty but I'd have them only as a matching set.

I just took the keys to my ERA, but I'll be ordering the Smiths voltmeter on Monday.

Note that Nisonger also has a Smiths voltmeter for a later era, with colored bars. It would look awful in a Cobra dash, IMVHO.

That's a good price from Gauge Guys. Nisonger quoted me $85 plus shipping.
