anti-leak...least clogging..?

My tow car, a 2001 Grand Cherokee V-8 has a leak in the heater core.

Of all the stop leaks, which is probably best for an aluminum block/heads engine?

Barr's has an array of stop leaks...I was thinking about the Barrs aluminum powder type.

I have heard about a GM fix involving a stop leak that comes as a pellet in new engines with tendencies to seep.

Grand Cherokee dash removal to replace the heater core is a monumental task. Have seen you tube videos that are pretty intimidating.

Think I would like to try stop leak first.

(Too bad its the Jeep...not the Cobra...I could pull the Cobra dash/heater core in an hour ! )

Thanks, Pete

Never had any luck patching a heater core. The flow is too great and the sealant never has a chance to settle. Bite the bullet , save some aggravation and send it to the dealer.

Otherwise I have had the best luck with the aluminum powder - for other problems.
