How do u modify stock in tank fuel pump to work with carberated engine?

Just use a fuel pressure regulator near the engine with a large return line. You will not have any problem. People do it all the time with LS conversions. Here is a regulator that should work:

Yes, that's the way to do it.

I modified a stock Holley deadhead regulator to work as a bypass reg about 15 years ago.

Should have sold it to Holley.

Eventually they thought of it.
