Webers...40 vs. 44 IDF's

Is the base bolt pattern the same ????

Would the 40's fit the Cobra Restorers 289 IDF intake ???

Would they work on a mild 302 ????

Just thinking about the next project.

Cheers,
Bill Cook

Bill,
Yes, the bolt pattern is the same for 40, 44 & 48 mm IDFs. The Cobra Restorers manifold most likely has 48 mm ports, but that shouldn't matter, the linkage is what will be different and require some modification. The 40s should work on a mild 302, but if you ever want to get more out of your engine, the 40s will likely hold you back. I have 48 mm IDFs that are choked down to 34 mm, which is okay for my engine since my redline is under 6,000. Higher revs and compression would require more air flow.

Mike
