Hurst shifter play on my top loader

I resently had a friend take the play out of my shifter by ,
putting a jam nut on th linkage where it screws in to the shifter ,
a spacer was needed before the nut because the nut would hit the mechinism .
and replaced the plastic bushings with steel . What a differance ! It is going to shift like a racecar !f:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

John, one other thing you can do, stiffen up the arms by welding gussets in the bends, tig only.

tpo loader shift rods

I used aluminum rods from Speedway Motors and heim rod fittings on each end - makes for great shifting, no play at all !
