Hi,
I want to keep the dash on my Crendon Replica as authentic as possible and I am going to fit a fuel pressure guage. I would also like to fit somewhere discretely an LED which indicates when the tank is nearly empty. I was thinking of using the fuel guage sender in the tank to do this. Is there anyone who has a circuit that I can use. Ideally it would include a surge prevention circuit (timer) which would prevent the LED from flashing on and off. I have the skill to assemble such a circuit but I cannot design it and would not know the appropriate values of resistances etc. Thanks in advance. Peter. |
Have you had trouble with your fuel system producing enough pressure or volume? I normally just install a gauge under the hood somewhere for day to day use. For tuning, I built a temporary mount electric gauge setup so I may observe under driving conditions. As for your low level light, you may want to install a secondary float device that is on or off. Usually the factory low fuel light is turned on by a separate contact on the level sending unit. It simply completes the ground for the low fuel light and then the light comes on. You could probably build yourself a little float low level sensor and install it in the tank easier than you could build the circuit to trigger it with the analog level sending unit. Just my .02

Peter,
Here is a link to a circuit that should suit your needs. http://www.electronicsforu.com/EFYLi...-06-July05.pdf Cheers, Bryan |
