Jaguar rear bearing carrier..crack ?

G'day,
I'm cleaning and rebuilding my jaguar suspension on my RMC Cobra (Australia) and I have found a hair-line crack in one of the webs on the aluminium bearing carrier. It is just 1/2 " long and just visible. Should I drill a stopper hole at the end of the crack. Or grind it out and weld it up. Does the carrier have to be preheated first ?
Can anyone give me some advice ?
Smithy.

Smithy, change it.

Jag wreckers have got them laying all over the place. Just make sure you get a good one without cracks.

Shouldn't cost too much.

Cheers

G'day Rebel 1,
I've bought a new carrier from a mob in Melbourne...$125.oo. Should arrive in Newcastle tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
I rang a few Jag. "specialists" and they couldn't tell me whether it could be welded or not. Seeing I've got another now I'll have a go welding it preheated with a TIG.
Smithy.
