I have three sizes and I like the tools. I use a lot of clamps in my business and this tool works good but use good SS wire. Regular clamps you tighten with screwdriver or nut driver seem to snap before they tighten up. This tool won't replace using regular clamps especially in tight places but it is a good tool that can be used on any size pipe. The best solution is to find a manufacture that produces a strong screw clamp!!!!!!!!!!!! I should not complain when I buy 10 clamps at Harbor Freight for a dollar and only three work.

I never understood why folks buy tools from Harbor Freight..AKA, china outlet. The prices alone tell you where they came from!. Yes, I have been down that 'china road', best short term education there is.

I bought a couple of those kits at the Puyallup Wa. State Fair a couple of years ago. I put a kit in the trunk in the emergency tool kit.

Do these things work well enough to trust them as radiator hose clamps, etc?

If installed correctly and you don't pull so tight that you cut into the hose it will probably last longer than you need it to.
