Texas Highways Magazine photo shoot - cobras needed

GUYS!

We at the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre in Ennis ( www.galaxydriveintheatre.com ) have been contacted about a photo shoot for Texas Highways Magazine ( www.texashighways.com )

Big exposure! They want convertibles who might be interested. It would be great to have a big Texas Cobra Club showing on this date: Friday November 13.

I'll follow up with more information as soon as I have confirmation on the date.

Dang, I wish I had a trailer. That sounds like fun.

Oops, sorry. Out of town.

I'll be there if she's running. I have a leak in the expansion tank. I'm going to take it off today and find a radiator shop to solder it up.

Sorry I"m just now getting back to ya'll about to run out the door so this will be quick. Need to have cars there by 4:00pm on Friday November 13th to set up for the shoot. They want to do the shoot as close to sunset to get a nice back drop. No guarantee your car will be used, but they want to have a "viewers perspective", as in sitting in the car looking at the screen through the windshield, etc.

More info shortly -- Thanks guys!

the Photo Shoot is on!

Guys,

I just got confirmation from the photographer today that they are coming this Friday. I was out at the drive-in tonight talking to the owners and they are excited as well.

We are going to be shooting on Screen #3 which is to the west and has a nice sunset behind it. On that screen this weekend will be the new movie "2012" and "the Step Father". So you will have the newest release to see.

Texas Highways photographers will be there at 4:00pm to set up the shots with lighting, etc. and we want to be absolutely sure that we have cars there early to prepare for the shoot. There is a very small window of time that they can get the perfect shots at dusk, which is before 6:00pm. So they are asking that cars arrive as close to 4:00 as well. There is no guarantee that you or your car will make the magazine spread, but it will be much better to have a large showing. Anyone that arrives early gets into the movies for free - we'll even provide soft drinks from the snack bar.

PLEASE confirm back to me that you can make the shoot this Friday at bwcobra15@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Bobby

John, the photo shoot turned out great! we had one cobra show up - Tom Grove from Midlothian with his beautiful CSX4000.

We also had 5 mustangs show up - I'm going off memory here: Ron Young '65 convertible, Jerry Gray '66 convertible, Ruth Dunlap '66 convertible, Randy Carlisle '07 GT, and another '04 Convertible who's owner's name I can't recall.

The Texas Highways photographers just loved the cars and the set up. We spent a few hours blocking the shots on screens #2 and #3. Most every car was used, I believe. I was in the projector booth coordinating the film queues when the "golden hour" of dusk hit. We started the preview films early and went through a series of shots on each screen.

The issue with the article should be March 2010. So it will hit the newstands in February.

I have loads of pictures on my 35mm camera I will post later, but here is the one shot I captured with my iPhone.
