November C&C

Hey gang:

Anyone planning on going to the November C&C? It is supposed to be pretty much sunny and 72 degrees.

Count me in.

SSSammy 11-25-2009 06:10 PM

I'm in, but may not make the S-Bux rendezvous at 5 am or whenever

In for C&C... seems like three long weeks that I have been cooped up.

Never did send Francis a check; I am so derelict. I am hoping we can catch up at C&C... Let's get the ball rolling again on the donations, I second Clois' urging... a $20 spot, $5 for each C&C attended.

Court...do you think we will have the west side contingent meet again?

Count me in.

I'm planning on being there and bringing money for Francis. The only problem is that I am on call for work. Hopefully, work will be quiet.

I'm in..... Saturday is going to be a beautiful day we need to cruise somewhere after the C&C. How about up to Dennison for a catfish lunch at Huck's or Clarks Outpost for some BBQ?

cgsincc 11-27-2009 04:24 PM

So what's the deal for tomorrow?

snakebittexan 11-27-2009 04:35 PM

R we meeting somewhere early? I need to get my $$ to Francis.

SSSammy 11-28-2009 06:21 AM

Sure was nice weather this morning. Lots of cool cars. I even got a few positive comments on the Jeep...

Drool factor was high. Had a great time.

sorry I missed out. I got really busy this weekend and had a lot to finish yesterday. I did not finish up everything until today so 4 days off, and 0 days to just kick back. :(

Oh Joe,
"Most men live their lives in quiet desperation...only to go to their graves with the song still in them." Find a way to sing your song!

That is what I am working on. I will get to sing one day when I get my Cobra. This weekend was just busy. I will try to get out to AER next weekend.

Same here Joe Wicked. I was really close to being able to pull the trigger earlier this year, then the A/C system went out in the house and killed my Cobra fund.

Last week saw the death of our TV, dishwasher, lower oven, and garage door opener. Talk about a week. Sheesh. Thanksgiving day I was grateful the house did not implode. :)

Pissed me off enough to get me out looking for a part-time job to get the Cobra fund back on track again. I figure if I can work evenings and weekends for about a year, I'll be close to pulling the trigger again.

Gonna be hard giving up the road trips and helping others with thier cars, but you have to do what you have to do.

Insurance

Sounds like you had a power surge in your house, did you check with the power company or insurance ?? Can't have that much damage happen at one time.:confused::confused: db

I wish. They were all unrelated and happened at different times. The TV's light engine (rear projector) went south for the winter. A common problem with the particular TV I had.

A seal in the lower spray arm of the dishwasher self-destructed leaking all manner of water all over the floor.

The switch on the lower oven quit switching.

The garage door opener motor control circuit died one morning (smoked).

It was spread over a week. Quite frankly, the dish washer and oven were not a huge surprise. They are both 17 years old.

Not complaining about it. Although it would have been a bit nicer had they spread out the love and not gone so close together.

We hosted Thanksgiving for friends and family. I just ripped out the sautering iron and patched the oven switch on so we could use it. We washed dishes by hand as the dishwasher tanked the night before. I manually raised the garage door and once the cars were in, shut it.

The big ticket item was the TV. Everyone wanted to see the Cowboy game. So we bought a new one.

No matter what though, I will get my Cobra. I do not mind a little hard work. The benefit will be worth it. It's only a year. I will make it happen. I just did not want to give up the occasional road trips and helping others with their cars.

At this point in time, I do not seem to have any other choice.
