car transport
anyone know a good and inexpensive Transport co.? Need to get my car to Houston from Atlanta.

I just had my car shipped in Dec from Orlando to Dallas by R&L Carriers for $1200.
|
Intercity Lines charged me about the same for shipping my ERA kit from New Britain, CT, to Waco, TX. They did an outstanding job.

Looks like I,m O.K. then.I'm geting quotes around $700.00, inclosed.
Thanks for replies Alex |
Intercity gave me a price of 1200 NC to TX

You might check this site out: http://www.transportreviews.com/ This site rates shippers and price. I haven't shipped my car yet, but I hope to soon. The thing I'm not sure about: It seems like there are brokerages that post a transport job. Then carriers check the postings and find a car or cars that fit the truck's schedule. So it is not like you are finding a specific truck and driver company to transport your Cobra. I'm not sure I like that, but I don't know. What you say?
|
Alex, did you buy a car in Atlanta? I recently looked at SPO #2404, Red with grey strips. Same one? I've got some good info on that car and want to find the new owner.
|
no, I bought a Black 289 FIA. Looks like Realiable is the way to go. I got a quote of $700.00 door to door.

Be Careful
AJ, Please ship your Cobra with someone other than the low bidder, use a known shipper that has experience with Cobras, if you don't you may be in a world of hurt. There are more bad stories about shipping Cobras with "truck lines" than you can imagine. It's your business, but I hate to see someone roll the dice on a Cobra. db:CRY::CRY::CRY:

I agree highly. I researched as you did, nearly went with a lower bid, checked further, and went with Intercity--great job, on schedule (even called me along the way with progress comments), absolutely no damage, and absolutely nothing missing. You get what you pay for.

From my research, Realiable is a good hauler. they haul a lot of high dollar cars. the reason for the low price, i had a friend who uses them for Porsche hauling.

I use Reliable Carriers on a routine basis. Definitely top notch company.

Thanks Bill, I think they'll do a good job.

FedEx
Call FedEx. they will meet and beat any offer. I had my car shipped from Ohio to Dallas, and FedEx was $200-400 less than anyone else.
It was not a dedicated delivery though. So if you're not in a rush, and can wait a few extra days, it might be worth contacting them. 1-800-gofedex |
I have excellent auto transport company if still want to move your car.
