Hey, I just play the piano here...
Scratching exit 206, we presently have only two options for getting to the track... - Yarrington Road at exit 210 (see updated directions and map above per locals only info), or - grand circumnavigation of the Hill Country (Contact Joe about hotel reservations at the bed & breakfast in Dripping Springs for Thursday evening):LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: |
Hey I just work here so dont ask me.
|
Having a terrible time trying to pay for Wiley Alexander III Harris Hill track event. How about I just give you a check. It is a lot easier.
Thanks Wiley Alexander |
Looking forward to seeing Wiley III, thanks for the PM exchange.
Anyone else having difficulty registering a second person? UPDATE: Novice Group is about full, Advanced and Intermediate Groups are at half capacity. REMINDER: PayPal registration deadline is Midnight Friday ON-SITE REGISTRATION: If space/time allows, on-site registration will be offered for $175 on Thursday 3/25 |
John can I bump up to the intermediate group?
|
Already done Greg. The way the H2R instructors were talkin about your big brakes and your hot laps, we seated you in "I" class a week ago.
|
Oh so I guess I have a little talent. :D

Registrations picked up today as the PayPal deadline encroaches. Operation Comfort is still a ways away from the benefit of a full grid, though. While we are not talking about the weather, the Track Day Event will be a spectacle. The Advanced Group is shaping up to be really something: Pro Racers, Semi-Pro Racers, HPDE Driving Instructors, NASA/COMMA/CVAR/VMC Licensees... perhaps some of you knew we had all this talent right under our noses. Advanced Group spots remain for those wanting to learn or teach something among this field of driving skill. The Intermediate Group has many years of road course experience as well, and Harris Hill will offer challenges to all. Someone today related that the H2R clockwise run course's opposing hairpins mimic The Corkscrew at Laguna Seca Monterey. Intermediate spots remain for those wanting to experience the sort, without shipping your car to California. The Novice Group has alot of eager to learn, but somewhat apprehensive drivers wanting to feel the experience. They should get their money's worth. Thanks to all of you who have signed up. |
I will be signing autographs on Friday at Harris Hill. :D
|
Gregg, I want one of those autographs! I'll bring my Austin CC shirt for you to sign...
I wish that I could track with you guys, but I have to attend to the trailer for customers and such. I hope to make it out there and watch a bit though... Look forward to seeing you all, James |

James, We have quite an assembly in the Advanced Group. You would fit in well (also, I don't think there is a single Backdraft among the lot). I say hang the "gone to lunch" sign during the advanced session and share your skills. I think the saying was, "win on Sunday - sell on Monday." John |
Pre-Registered:
Novice Group - 12 Intermediate - 7 Advanced - 6 I will be bringing forms for on-site registration on Thursday, but am unsure of my arrival time. If you want in last minute, bring $175 cash and locate one of the Austin principles or myself in the parking lot to get taken care of. |
jshel1, or anyone that knows,
If we don't arrive til Friday morning, is there anywhere to unload our stuff to get ready for the track? I'm planning on driving down so I can't just leave everything in the tow vehicle. -Greg |
Greg E.,
Harris Hill has a parking area for trailers and tow vehicles as illustrated in the below picture. Spectator Parking and Paddock Areas are also highlighted. For securement of truck bed and open trailer contents, there are two options... 1) Find a friend with an enclosed trailer to stow your items (I can recommend a whole list of folks.) 2) H2R has an office within the clubhouse, that will have constant supervision. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...2r_parking.jpg |
storage issue
Greg,
I will have an enclosed trailer at the hotel that we can use to store your gear. Just find or call me as soon as you arrive. Call me at 512-557-3694. Ken Walker |
Ken are you planning on going down Thursday Morning?
|
Does anybody know what time will the track be open for bringing in the cars and setting up?
Richard |
John/Gregg,
Do you guys have room for one more longtime TCC member--with a Lister replica? I don't have my ERA, GT40, or 289 slabside anymore, but I've done several track events at H2R and would love to join you guys if you'll have me. Bob |
Richard,
I think we have the track at 1200. I plan on being there a few minutes earlier to sign and and chat with the instructors. I plan on getting there between 10:30 and 11:00. |
