Who's Cobra magazines were those at the show? Is it a current periodical? I'd love to get more info and see about getting a subscription if possible.
Thanks, - Ado |

Not seeing the magazines....but a few years ago there was a Cobra Magazine. I believe it only lasted a few issues. The first issue contained an article about Dick Smiths car. It was interesting reading. I had all 'til the previous wife tossed them out.

Cobras magazines
If you are talking about the ones that were spread around my blue ERA at the Yellow Rose those were mine.:D Ran across the first couple at a half price book store several years ago while doing research. They were a spinoff of one of the Kit Car magazines but did not last very long. I think I have them all but a couple and am always on the lookout as they were VERY cool and had lots of articles and pictures......and make good display items....i look at them regularly.
Hope this helps Gary:D |
OH, YEAH!!
THANKS FOR THE REPLY, GARY,
WOULD YOU BE KIND ENOUGH TO POST THE NAME & ADDRESS OF THE PUBLISHER?? I COLLECT ITEMS, MEMORABILIA, RELATED "STUFF" (AND JUNK - IF YOUR INCLINED TO BELIEVE MY GIRLFRIEND) - ANYTHING TO DO WITH COBRAS. OCCASIONALLY PUBLISHERS WILL HAVE BACK ISSUES THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO SELL AT EXHORBITANT PRICES TO JUNK COLLECTORS LIKE ME. I'D BE EMBARASSED TO TELL YOU WHAT I JUST PAID FOR A COPY OF GEORGE STAUFFERS BOOK, "COBRA DAYTONA COUPES". OF COURSE IT'S "BRAND NEW" AND AUTOGRAPHED PERSONALLY BY EVERYBODY WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER WHO WASN'T IN VIET NAM AT THE TIME. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. HAVE A GREAT DAY, BLACKJACK |
Blackjack....been there done that. I tried to locate the back issues left overs etc...after finding my first copy. Was told nadda..no more all gone. I will have to look at one but I'm pretty sure it was done by the same publisher as "Kit Car Illustrated" as it was their spinoff publication. Could not keep enough Cobra only advertisers etc....to keep it going, KCI then went to a yearly Cobra ONLY edition but even that has gone away.
Gary:D NOW I've done it and spilled the beans...I'll probably never finish my collection now......EXCEPT I do have an inside connection from someone I met that claimed to have several of all issues.....I just have to figure out how to contact him...hope to see him before the year is out......good luck to all in the hunt...they are cool magazines and worth keeping an eye out for.%/ |
YEP!!
THAT'S WHAT I FIGURED.
THANKS ANYWAY. HAVE A GREAT DAY, BJ |
So what we should do is ask Kit Car or Emap USA or whoever if we can scan the mags in and put digital copies out on TCC.com... Kindof a significant amount of work, but may be worth it - plus it'll save your mags a lot of wear in the long run. You could put those bad boys in protective sleeves and just pull them out when your car is on display. Just a thought.
