Houston September Cobra Meet
Well it's about that time again. Time to clean them snakes up and let them get some sun.
Due to the first Saturday of the month falling into the Labor Day weekend, we will be moving the meeting to the 2nd Saturday of September. In an effort to spread the Joy all over our area we will meet on the North side of town on September 8th at the Joe's Crab Shack on Highway 59 in Humble at 11 am. Respond here if you plan to attend. Remember this is a rain or shine event and you don't have to own a Cobra to attend.:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
Dennis -
We're looking forward to meeting the local group. We'll be there! Scott |
I probably won't be able to make it. I've got to go to China about that time frame (nothing set in stone yet.)
PS: I had my Bonneville totaled Friday 8-17-01. %/ Some uninsured motorist, failed to yeild the right away . She pulled out infront of a bus stopped in the right hand lane (long line making a turn) across my lane (the left hand lane) so she could turn left. Big T-bone situation **), but thankfully nobody was hurt beyond minor bruising. :JEKYLHYDE TAZ :JEKYLHYDE |
Houston Meeting
Robyn and I will try to be there.

We will plan to attend with or without cobra.
It is currently on four jack stands. I am installing a Griffin radiator, stiffer & longer coilovers, new tubular front suspension, and a higher ratio differential. These are important improvements to address drivability issues. It should all be back together by 9/8. Jim Weatherall :MECOOL: |

Chad T brought up that the Budweiser Car Show is also happening this weekend and we won't be too very far from there when we meet. If anyone is interested, let me know and maybe some of us could cruise over to the show.

Bud Car Show
Why don't you all come by the Bud Car Show after the meeting and visit with us there. I know the folks would like to see the all the Cobras attend the show.
I will have my Monte Carlo Falcon there and the rest of the Falcon Club will be there as well as the Fiero Club. My order for an FFR Spec Racer has been placed and it should be here in a couple of months. Look for all of you at the show. Falcon65 |

Bud Car Show Report
Sorry that the group missed the Bud Car Show on Saturday. They had over 150 entrants and not one Cobra! :(
I was very fortunate and my Monte Carlo Falcon won 1st place in the race car division. :D Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting/event. regards, falcon65 |
The "Other" Show
Haven't heard, yet, but I hope there was a good
turnout to the meeting. I was helping all day with the Space City Cruisers' Show. The weather and Budweiser's free beer (on their rain day) took away from the expected number of entrants at the Cruisers' Show, but we had 3 Cobras there. Tommy Hamon's original '86 AC was not part of the competition (because he was in the Club category), but Randy Jones won 1st Place and Ken Hancock won 2nd Place in the 2-seater division. Since Tommy won in the Club division, all 3 Cobras took an award. Randy's and Ken's are Lone Star cars. See ya'll soon. |
We had a very good time. Turn out was pretty good (5 cars) also given that there were 2 other events going on.
Chad, Mike, Tom and I ended up at the bud show after the judging had taken place but we did park the cars and let people take a look. there were some amaziing cars there. Saw another cobra there but never met the owner. Left him my email and phone number though. |
