Fiberglass Painter?

1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone recommend a good painter for my FFR fiberglass body? My son and I have just gotten street legal. We live in Allen, North of Plano and are looking for a good shop in the Metroplex. I hope to disassemble the body off of the car in about a month. And I plan to deliver it using my body buck and trailer.

We'll have this shop do the trim work, rounding the edges and prepping the seams. There are at least a dozen spots that need to be smoothed out. Then of course the primer and paint.

We're more concerned about the quality and timeliness, above cost. I've heard too many horror stories, where MONTHS are involved. I'd prefer to talk in WEEKS!

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Chris Recker at Advantage Autoworks does nice work. He has worked on two daily drivers and will eventually repaint the cobra when I am tired of all the rock dings. http://www.advantageautoworks.com/

When I had my corvette and needed some repair paint work done this is where Corvette of Dallas recommended. I went out to his place and checked it out and got an est. He has a really nice place and he had several old cars in house he was restoring. I didn't end up getting the work done because I sold the car. But when I got my FFR couple to that stage he was going to be my first call.

A lot of the Dallas area cobra guys use David Braddy in Ennis. He does very good work for a reasonable price. I think he's done over 40 cobras and some have been featured in Kit Car magazine.

I don't have his contact info but I'm sure you can find him by directory assistance.

He painted my LoneStar you can see his paint booth on my web site.

No matter who it is or what they tell you it is going to take a lot longer than they say.

I used Mastercraft in Ovilla. Couldn't be happier with the paint and body work they did. He guarantees the work for as long as he is in business. It's a family business that has been around for many, many years. They do lots of custom work and have done many Cobras. They aren't cheap, but their work is high quality. If you go there as for Erik and have him show you around the shop. I'm sure he will have some already painted vehicles at the location so you can see some of their work before you commit.
