What kind of problem are you having, Wayne? In TX you should have to meet the 1965 standards worst case ... a PCV valve. If you had your car inspected at the DPS Waiver station, you would have failed the OBD II emission test, then been given a waiver based on your 1965 replica status. Onward to registration with the "green" sheet. Probably ought to do this for the first time, then use the non-DPS inspectors for subsequent years.

Hi Sam,

I've past inspection, no problem, but was just cocerned if the year motor might catch me at registration. But apparently I've made it through inspection so I'm ok to go ?

Save yourself a future headache and make sure they write "1965 replica" under remarks. It will be titiled the year it is built. It not an option for them to write 1965 replica under remarks it is the law.

Wayne, there is no requirement in TX to actually use a vintage block. As long as you have the green sheet from the inspection, that is what they need. Your insurance card needs to describe the vehicle as a 1965 Ford Cobra Replica, or similar words.

You do have to fill out all the TX state forms. I presume you have read that thread. You will need your FFR MSO, your FFR receipt for the kit and receipts for major components like engine and tranny. Then you will provide a tracing of your chassis number, which will become the VIN. One of the forms is where you certify that you assembled the car.

When your title is done it will say "2011 ASVE" and like Max says, it will have a comment "1965 Ford Replica."

BTW, one thing about TX Registration is absolutely consistent, no matter where you get it done .. it is completely inconsistent :D

If you are in Denton County (I think you are) the registration office in The Colony did mine. Ask for Rachel. She knew exactly what to do. I was very prepared to have to educate the registration office. I had printouts from their manual handy, etc..... Didn't need any of it. Just the stuff that SSSammy mentioned. With the green sheet, MSO, receipts, etc. in hand it will only take a few minutes and $100 or so dollars. I think mine was about $115 or so.

I'm now in the new graduation class of 2011

Well folks thanks for all of your appreciated advice. I went to the Carrollton registration office and they didn't know what needed to be done without pulling out the book. A long story shortened up I got the car registered yesterday and no problem with emission issues. It's also registered as a 1965 Roadster.

I'm now amongst all you finished guys’. :D I took the car over to C & S Performance in Plano today and they're going to dyno tune it and tweak a couple of items for me.

I'm a real happy camper after this fun journey. I'm really satisfied how it turned out. Now comes the bigger fun part of driving it finally.

Thanks again for all the help and advise I got here on the blog.
