fuel problem update

Update on reported fuel issue in April;

I've just returned from a month out of the country and took my BDR out for my first run since San Marcos. I went North and found some great roads but still had some San Marcos fuel in the tank and after she warmed up the fuel 'starvation" issue reared it's ugly head again. I found a auto parts store and bought a bottle of Lucas Fuel Additive and filled up with some Shell 93. The combination was pure magic! The krap they called fuel in San Marcos was the issue. However since our government is going to continue to push corn as fuel I'm still going to install a phenolic spacer and keep a bottle of Lucas in my trunk . After the problem disappeared I heard my muffler hitting the road after a bump or dip. I pulled over under a shade tree and broke out the duct tape for a quick repair to the rubber mounting bracket and was almost laughing because I was so happy the fuel "starvation" issue was behind me.

See ya soon!

Looks like I choose the wrong direction ? Same here on some leftover fuel & starvation so I sent my Zepata Carb back to Steve for a rebuild & car ran better but still starving under demand? I had already topped tank with 10 gallons race fuel, you would think that would be like a good fuel bumper?
Fuel filters failed to come in before holiday so I may give the fuel booster a try, heard of a few people having to swap out some fuel lines from that Wonderful Fuel we got !

fuel issues

I also have a Zepeda carb on my car. After San Marcos I thought I had the flooding, hard starting issue behind me until I arrive in Ft. Stockton/Sanderson for the Big Bend race. I could see the fuel boiling in the sight glasses in the float bowls. Found a phenolic spacer in Houston, had a Ford GT hot shot it to me, installed it along with fresh plugs and no problems. Ran the car again at MSR this past Thursday, 98 outside and no issues. Carb/air cleaner are cool enough after running hard that you can actually put your hand on and not burn it. Until we stop putting corn in our gas this problem will only get worse. Write your congressman and senators.
