Calling Midland & Odessa

Here's a unique opportunity
Get your motor running…

The Chaparral 2E will be driven, weather permitting, Saturday, June 4, 2011 around 5:00 p.m. at the Petroleum Museum. Jim Hall will be driving!! The Chaparral 2E will run for approximately 10-20 minutes in the front circle. The running of the Chaparrals is part of the routine maintenance to keep the cars in running condition. If you have any questions call Ronnie Low at 432-528-9999.

Please enter through the Visitor Center entrance which is east of the Museum’s entrance. (The Museum entrance will be closed off.) Please feel free to come early and walk back to the garage to see it getting prepped for the drive.

Please check your e-mail before you come to be sure we are still a go. If you do NOT hear from me, we ARE running!

Please feel free to forward this e-mail to any interested persons you know. If you know someone who would like to be on the e-mail notification list send the address to me at lthornton@petroleummuseum.org

Hope you can make it out!

Reminder….

Chaparral Pit Crew Fan Club members only are invited to stay for a Party on the Patio with Jim Hall after the drive (RSVP required-no later than Friday morning). Fan Club forms are attached if you would like to join the party.

You LUCKY DOGS!!! I had a chance to visit the Petroleum Museum a few years ago and would highly recommend it, even without seeing Jim Hall driving the 2E. Take some photos and post them please.

Don Barnes and I were fortunate to attend the Grand Opening of the Chaparral museum. Jim Hall drove the 2E car from the famous Rattlesnake Raceway to the museum for it's dedication. The museum is really well done with all the Chaparral cars on display. It's really worth the time to stop and look around and see some racing history on display.
