Just curious, did you ever try to lower the rear float? When they say loosen the float spring I take that to say they lowered the float level.

Like all the other advice you have received, I'll reiterate the fact that jet extensions on the secondary are for fuel starvation on acceleration.
Unless your float level is too high, they have little to do with sloshing into the venturi on deceleration. High float level and long tubes may work, but the main well would get uncovered, then a stall condition of lean return to idle may exist. You should have bowl vent whistles fitted to both bowls, jet extensions on the secondary with a notched float, and the float levels just under the sight plug. |

I did notice yesterday when I started the car it didn't want to idle very well until the motor warmed up some. Maybe to lean:JEKYLHYDE Anyway I appreciate your feedback on this. I'm probably going to try and richen it up just a little to smooth out the cold idle. Wayne E |
It's a hotrod with a carburetor. If you adjust it to idle well when cold it is very unlikely that it will idle properly when warm.

I was under the impression that this condition stalling under very sudden hard breaking can be caused by the vacuum draw from the power assisted brakes?
And that's why they sell additional vacuum canisters to be applied to large camed motors? |
You might try simply extending the height of the rear vent with a piece of fuel hose.
