DALLAS Mechanic & Detail?
Hey guys,
I am about to receive (May the Lord make me TRUELY grateful Amen!) my 66 Cobra (been delayed for 2 days because of some Ferrari pick up in West Texas of all things!!! haha...) and wondered if anyone could recommend the best guy to go to regarding a mechanic in Dallas who I could have work on her should/when the need arise? Im not a great mechanic and really want someone who loves these things to work on her when needed. I also need a recommendation for the best person for comoplete detail...engine and all? Any help or advice from you pro's would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Sean |
The Shelby place in Farmer's Branch recently went bankrupt but C&S Performance in Plano works on Cobras from detailing to complete builds. I actually installed my engine and dynoed my Cobra there. Ask for Gary Morris who is also a Shelby club member...

How did she do on the dyno?

Thanks Gary!

It made 681HP at the crank and 530HP at the wheels but it was a pretty hot and humid day when we did the pulls at the wheels. Thinking on a nice cool low humidity day it should make 550HP at the wheels.
Here is one of the first pulls where it made 518HP and then we leaned it out a bit to get 530HP. The smoke at the end of the video was from the overflow spitting out down by the left side pipe as the car heated up and the electric fans didn't come on as I pinched the power wire and shorted the fuse when I put the engine compartment inner panels in. Like to dynoed it again this fall when it's much cooler outside and low humidity. Exact 427 Cobra - YouTube |
Ditto recommendation of Keith Craft/C&S in Plano. Excellent work. Found 35 hp on the dyno when tuned right; unbelievable. Usually two or three Cobras in there (eye candy). Ask for Gary Morris.
