Thanks guys,
I can't wait to dress it up for the races this weekend in Dallas. I'll post some more pics when I'm done. Black meetballs on the sides with red numbers and the traditional set of decals from Enzo at Finish Line. Best of luck getting your project started excelguru. I can tell you that it will be well worth the wait. BTW, I'm going with the number "96" on my car because that is when I decided to make my dream become a reality. Lots of research and lots of time scraping together the money :) ToyCollector - the steering wheel is a free option from SPF. I tried the wood wheel and found that my big hands had a tough time holding on to it. The leather wheel is much thicker and easier to grab. It is also an inch smaller in diameter which gives my long legs a little extra breathing room. Charmer |
Stretch, you left a little early yesterday! I have something for you.
Stretch,
You packed the car up yesterday, and you & the boys left our SCAT event at the Hilton just a bit early! I guess you must have not realized it was not over, and you missed the awards portion, with all the sponsor awards & give aways. Every car registered should receive one, but you need to be present to win. You also bought a ticket for the engine raffle for the 302 long block donated by AERR(nope, not you). I also need your address, because you also left something behind in your haste to leave, so I guess I will just hold on to your.............................................. ....... COBRA REPLICA CLASS AWARD TROPHY............... Yep, you left before you got the TROPHY, and you are NOT GOING TO GET IT, until I get that ride you promised me....So there! John Russell.....just kidding! Send address! |
Come on John,
DONT TEASE ME LIKE THAT. Those judges would have to have been blind not to see the dirt and oil everywhere. Did you see the inside of my car? It looked like I was giving HAY RIDES just prior to the show. Don't worry though, I'll still give you that ride! Seriously, I wish I could have stayed but I promissed the crew back home that I'd be there to help out with my Bro-in-Law's 40th bday party. Thanks for the great weekend! I'm still grinnin and gigglin :) Charmer |
Nope, I'm not teasing!!
Stretch,
I'm not teasing you, we both won a Class Award, with Gary Morris and the Red ERA Roadster from Houston with the Webbers the Class Winners (we had so many cars that they split the class). If you really don't WANT this trophy (that you DID win), I will be glad to send it to one of the folks that didn't. Send me the address, NO KIDDING!!!!!! John R. |
Stretch - I had to leave Sat. before I heard the diagnosis on your oil leak. Hope it wasn't anything serious and were you able to fix it?
|
Wow, what an honor to win an award! I really did think you were kidding, John. I'll email you my address.
Hey Dick, Thanks for asking. The oil problem was nothing more than a blown pan gasket. Jay got under the car and traced it down. THANKS JAY. I must have dropped 3 quarts so the whole right underside of the car was covered in oil. The heavy smoke was oil burning as it hit the header and pipe. I'm going to replace the gasket and bolts this Friday. I'm also going to install a puke tank like John's and add a 1 qt. Accusump pre-oiler. Charmer |
