11 luxury sports cars wrecked in expensive pileup

Insurance adjuster's nightmare "Ouch"
|
I was once on a Cobra group outing that could have just as easily turned out the same way (except for the total price tag). There's something about being in a group of people doing stupid stuff that makes it easier for each individual to do stupid stuff too.

Kyle Busch was in that pack. He had enough of being cut down on.

Pile-up at 90 mph, and they walk away with minor cuts and bruises? Says a lot about Ferrari safety design...

There was a Prius in that mess.

Not too many people know that.. In fact, you're the only person that I have ever run into that knew.. That's why I used the word "learned" - the thought being over 700 yrs that something new might be learned.
By chance do you know the history behind the Military salute? Francis |

The most common reference is noted in the article. As you know during the Ages, Jousting was a "sport". the participants dressed in Armor covering their entire body including their heads. As such, the participants would lift up the "visor" with their hands/finger tips and make eye contact with their opponent. that was a sign of acknowledgemet and respect. Once acknowledged they let go, and the visor would drop to protect their eyes. thereafter the joust begins.
I had heard and was told a military history professor that the reference to the Romans and approaching them showing the hands, is the origin of the "hands up" when you are about to surrender or be searched. The tipping of the hat is akin to the head nod, acknowledging a passer by. Now what about the comtempory "fist bump" - no clue |
