SCAT Meet & Greet - Dallas Jan 21st!
Greetings and Happy New Year!
Please plan to attend SCAT's January "Meet & Greet', January 21st at Papa's BBQ, NW Highway & IH-35 in Dallas. 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. We plan to discuss upcoming events for 2012 especially the Shelby 50th anniversary tour which is scheduled to stop in Dallas this summer. Sorry you can't make it to the Rahr Brewery Gary. I've had the Rahr Brewery idea in my back pocket for months, but every weekend it seems like something comes up for me or the group.
Had I known a couple of weeks ago that there was a SCAT event this weekend I would have once again scheduled this for another time. Hopefully not too many people will back out to "discuss" ole Shel's 50th Anniversary. No hard feelings here if any of you guys want to go to a meeting. Suppose to be 53 late Saturday afternoon so I guess which everone I go too I wouldn't take the car anyway. I'm getting to be a wimp in my old age and like it 60 plus. But I haven't driven it is a month so maybe I'll crank her up anyway. Funny that tomorrow is 70 plus and Saturday 50s and Sunday 70s again!

Nice turn out at the SCAT lunch also. Only about 4 Cobras and a ton of late model Shelby GT500s and a few older 60 Shelby Mustangs. George showed up with the Comp Car and CSX4000. Man it had to be pretty cold driving that Comp Car......
The big news is; Looks like June 30th SCAT will be making plans to host the Shelby 50th Aniversary Caravan in Dallas. They are thinking some sort of car show cruise event but more details to come..... |
Thanks for the update Gary. I was really torn between hearing Don's announcements/ideas and touring the Rahr Brewery, but my affection for nectar of the grains prevailed. We have all marked the date on our calendars.
I second the thought about George driving his Competition Car... the day started out surprisingly cold. |
Frostbite
I ended up with a mild case of Frostbite and only lost 2 toes and 3 fingers! Lol
It's time to trade these cars in on something with a roof and a heater and A/C for the summer. |
Hey George,
You could trade it for 15 or 20 cars! You're tougher then me as it was just too darn cold and I at least have a windshield. :LOL: |
