titling in Texas

How hard is it title car, if the Title reads 2007 Backdraft Cobra? last one I had was easy as it read 1964 Ford.

Let start at the beginning. Is it currently titled? What state is it titled? More than likely they will only title as 2007 unless it already has a Texas title. If rthats the case the original owner who got the first title will have to go to courthouse and correct title to read 2007 Assembled and 1965 replica under remarks. Nobody but the original owner can do this.

I commend you on checking before buying. You can still buy it as a 2007 and have your insurance agent write 1965 on the insurance paper. That's all the inspection stations use for the green? tag. than go get it titled. Much easier if titled correctly or as a 1965.

I don't fuk with it anymore. Its either titled perfectly or I move on unless the owner wants to pay be $15k which they never do.

pm with your phone number. i will tell you what i know. if it titled as a 64 it will be a breeze. all you need at courthouse is title, application for texas title signed by seller and you or bill of sale and green sheet you get at an inspection station. easily obtained if your insurance card says 1965 but i don t know how the courthouse will respond if they see 64 and title says 2007. i know of an inspection station………………...

Mine came with a Montana title, as a 1965 Shelby Cobra, with that , insurance card showing the same, and the green sheet, took about 5 minutes to receive a Texas title , as a 1965 Shelby Cobra.

It the fact that it reads 2007 backdraft cobra is what i'm afraid of.

In the end you just need a green sheet. They cost $1.00. It's how the court validates the title, they use regular inspection stations. Any out of state car getting a Texas title even if you own it needs one when you go to court house.

Ok so you need an inspection station which will write 2007 on the green card but not make it past 2007 emissions requirements. Once you have the green tag, card you go to courthouse and your done.
