London Cobra Show and the TCC
2 Attachment(s)
Summer time greetings from Austin!
For those of you that attended the 2014 Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet back in March, you know we were honored to have the George Daulton and the Ohio Cobra Club’s Cystic Fibrosis Raffle Car. There were several activities that occurred during our meet that allowed us to bring in additional funds, more than what was needed to pull off the Spring Meet. While the goal of our meet is enjoy each other’s company and terrorized the folks in the Texas Hill Country, when we do have extra funds we donate it to a reputable charity. For the past two years we have joined forces with the OCC to assist CFF in finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. At the London Cobra Show, the OCC group was kind enough to give me about 10 minutes of podium time at their closing ceremony. I presented them with 2 checks from the TCC Spring Meet. The first one was a check for $1500 that went directly to CFF and another check for $1500 went to OCC to help offset the cost for the 2015 raffle car. OCC has raised over $900,000 for CFF in the past 8 years. A cure for CFF is right around the corner. In fact, the Monday after the event, it was announced that a new drug is now available for CF patients and it is showing to be a possible cure for CF, showing remarkable results in a huge number of CF patients. Please the attached file. An announcement about the 2015 Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet is right around the corner. Stay tuned. Thanks Ken Walker |

Well done conclusion to 2014 TCC Spring Meet, Ken!!
The memories I have of those days this past March are pretty high on the list. Will be hard to top in the future. We look forward to the announcements concerning 2015. |
Several folks have asked me to explain the handwritten note on the bottom the letter from Rod Pierce of the OCC. When the OCC went to pick up the 2015 raffle car it had 18" wheels on it instead of the 15" ones they had originally pick out. But the car looked so good with the 18"s the OCC decided to stay with them. The upgrade was had not been in their budget. The amount we gave the OCC towards the new raffle car covered the wheel upgrades.
So now the mystery of the note and why I posted a photo of me by a wheel and not some hot cobra babe is now solved. OR should I have said "because that is just how the TCC rolls (pun intended)!! KEN |
