U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship | October 10 - October 12
Is anyone going to COTA next weekend?
U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship | October 10 - October 12 at Circuit of the Americas The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) returns to the Circuit of the Americas again in 2014 for its annual U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship. The event will take place from October 10th through the 12th featuring three days of on-track action with over 600 Vintage race cars from throughout the world. SVRA’s twelve racing classes promise nonstop excitement from 8AM - 6PM each day with automobiles from the early 20th century to the present competing for the coveted Vintage Racing National Championship title that will be awarded to over 35 different class winners. In addition, over 30 Historic Trans-Am cars will compete for the first time at the Circuit of the Americas. This is certain to be popular with race fans as it showcases the cars that competed in this very popular professional series in the late 1960s and early 70s. These original Boss 302 Mustangs, Camaro Z-28s, Plymouth Barracudas , Dodge Challengers and AMC Javelins were driven by American racing legends Dan Gurney, Sam Posey, Mark Donohue, Peter Revson, and Parnelli Jones as they battled week in and week out for the series championship. This is a “must see” for older fans who followed the series back in the day, as well as younger ones who have only heard about the so called “factory wars.” For more information on the cars and drivers that will be participating check out the Historic Trans-Am website, Historic Trans Am. Cars from early 1900’s up to modern-day prototypes. Three-day pass includes ticket to Asleep at the Wheel concert on Saturday night followed by a Texas size fireworks display. |
Went last year and would not pass it up. Incredible venue and access to the cars.
I'll be there hanging out in Garages 28, 29 and 30. With any luck I'll get the Cobra in the paddock. Look me up and we can get a $10 beer :-) See ya, Richard |
I'll be running in Group 6. 1st time on track. But I'm bringing a ringer in for my co-driver during the Sunday 90 minute Enduro. No idea where we'll be paddocked, but if you see a '65 Mustang #10, buy me that $10 beer. The entry fees were so high I can't afford anything now..................:JEKYLHYDE
