Cruising the Hill Country

I'm off on vacation for the next three weeks. Anyone in the Austin area want to cruise to Wimberly and shop & eat let me know. We could also go to the Salt Lick for lunch. Call me at 288-0446 if anyone is interested. I'm taking advantage of these cool sunny days and charging up my Cobra battery before it decides to rain or snow around here. We got four sunny days this week, so give me a call.:3DSMILE:

As soon as I can get the intake manifold gasket changed and the electrical issue resolved and the drop in fuel pressure taken care of....I'm in!

Was hoping to get in some cruising time before I left town this week, but I don't have a Cobra anymore  -- it's off to be painted. :)

Neil - very cool! Will it still be red?

Ren Man - can't guarantee any sort of availability, but post a note when you're ready to tackle the intake - it's been a while since I enjoyed the sweet aroma of laquer thinner, 40wt, and RTV blue, and if I can I'd love to lend a hand.

Ed - sorry I've missed all these cruise opportunities - with any luck, I'll be burning hydrocarbons more regularly in January (weather permitting).

Speaking of cruising, we happened to take a family drive last weekend to Dripping Springs by way of Hamilton Pool Road and route (?) 12. Both roads were pretty interesting, and fairly untraveled by other cars. There's also a restaurant called Alpenhos on Hamilton Pool Road - anybody know it? And did I just volunteer to head up the next unclaimed monthly cruise?

JLW
popping up for air - in the last two months, my car's been as far as Smokey J's and Sonic in Lakeway. Been taking advantage of some unexpected free time (thanks to a Vignette "reduction in force" that axed my department) to do the Dad thing full time. However, January's going to be time to go back to the working Dad thing - anyone know of tech companies in Austin that aren't hurting?:)

John,

Color is "under wraps". :D Sorry to hear about your job situation. I'm in the same boat, so I'm also shopping around for a job.

But it's great that you've got time to cruise now.

Cheers,
-Neil.

Sunny Days

Take advantage of these sunny days if you can, I got two days in so far, hopefully two more before it starts raining on Saturday. I changed the oil in my FFR and got a few hours in cruising around town charging the battery today. A bit nippy but with a goose down jacket and engine heat coming through my firewall, it's nice a warm in my cockpit. :p

John, when do you go to the Lakeway Sonic, we can meet and have a soda. Scott, we can also meet at Starbucks Coffee house at the Lakeway entrance. Give me a call (288-0446).

It's always more fun with several Cobras hanging out. :D
