Toured that collection several times years ago. Really good stuff. Why is he selling it all?

I saw CSX3279 on display at the AACA Hershey Fall Meet in early October. I had heard that some of the later 427 cars had no chin oil cooler scoop, but this is the first one I have ever seen. Very original looking, with original Blue Dot tires with cracks, and 11,800 miles on the odometer. Seems like kind of a shame that no one was driving it and enjoying it all these years.

Estimate for CSX7049 is 350,000 to 500,000. That seems a bit high.

While it is true that "late" 427 Cobras lacked the oil cooler scoop, that practice didn't start until the 3300-series cars. 3279 originally had the scoop, hence at some point it was removed.

You called it ... went for $225,500 which is a bit more reasonable. Looks like a very nice car.

Have not seen very many bare 289s ... the 427 Kirkhams look pretty good with no paint, but the FIA looks better with paint, IMHO ... something like Viking Blue is a good choice ... :)
