DFW tire mounting recommendations

My new 15" Trigo 5-pin wheels with adapters and spinners should be arriving next week.

I will need my Goodyear Eagle Billboard non-DOT bias ply tires mounted.

I sure don't want to take them to the local Discount Tire or NTB and have some high school kid throw them on the machine and knock them around.

Can anyone recommend a Cobra-friendly and knowledgeable tire shop in the Dallas/Ft Worth area - preferably in the southern sector?

FWIW - I will be bringing the new wheels in boxes, and new tires only. No cobra.

Bob, I hand carry my wheels and tires to my local Discount and speak to the tech who will do the work. They are not high school kids here. Talk to the store manager first if you like. Show him your brand new rims and how they have no marks on them ;) Ask for their best balance job and allow them to put self adhesive weights on the outside and inside of the wheel if necessary. Tell them it is a race car and you are going to drive it up to 130 mph on the track occasionally :D

The tough thing about GY Billboards is that if you get a nail hole, DT will not repair them. They claim that they can't plug a bias ply tire and they don't do inside patches anymore. Lawyers got to them, I think. I don't know if this is a nationwide thing.

There is a DT on 121 @ Ohio in Plano that is managed by an SCCA racer that we use up here in the far north. His name is Todd Eaddy. I take my race car tires to him personally.

Alternatively, you might talk to your nearest Smiley's Racing shop. Call first.

Same here DT, just mention it's for a Cobra and they will take care of you.

It is Todds daughter that died in the karting accident at an SCCA event earlier this year that we are having the Charity event for.

Just south of TCU is Texas Track Works, I use them for everything that I can't do myself.

Thanks, Kevin - and everyone else. I'll start by talking to a manager at DT in Mansfield or Waxahachie, and if I dont like what i see or hear, i'll try Texas Track Works.

i just had them mount my Billboards today, great job and not a single mark. They were cheaper than DT and I stood next to one of the owner while he did them.
