AC Cobra, The Complete Story
I found a book in the book store the other day titled "AC Cobra, The Complete Story" by Brian Laban. (ISBN 1-86126-013-X)
Has anyone read this book? Very interesting read on Carroll Shelby before and after the Cobra. Alot of information on the history of the AC Cobra. This book would be a nice stocking stuffer for Christmas. :D |

I have that book and love it! Obviously written by an Englishman, but a good book with alot of history. My only complaint is that it doesn't have enough pictures of the S/C's. Only one (Black w/ light blue stripes). Of course, being so rare, there probably aren't too many S/C's in the UK. I love the "Original" series of books by Bay View publishing. They have done a series of books on many classics (Porsche, MG, etc.) I have the Original E-type" book and would love to have this type of book done on the Cobra's. Does anyone know if such a book exists? Regards, Keith |
Keith; I noticed the variations on the gas cap locations. One thing I would have a hard time getting used to is driving on the right side of the cockpit and shifting with my left hand. Using an automatic is one thing, but shifting with the left hand would take a bit of time getting used to. Talk about grinding gears.

The Cobra Story by Carroll Shelby
I have a copy of a book called "The Cobra Story". It was written by Carroll Shelby and Lyle Kenyon and published by the Trident Press in 1965. I have an authorized reprint by Motorbooks International at an undisclosed later date. It is a great book but I haven't seen it anywhere else. Carroll tells his whole story from a youth in East Texas sliding around turns on his dad's mail route to Le Mans and back. It is told as only Carroll could tell his story. Is anyone familiar with this book?
