Side Pipes
I'm going to remove my side pipes and take them to Specialized Performance Coatings for ceramic coating. Is there anything I should beware of while I'm removing, installing them? Any suggestions? The car is a BDR.
Thanks,
Vance

I'd just make sure you had some rags or some other such to protect the body work where they exit and where they're likely to pivot up in the rear. Along with that is something or someone to support them when that last flange bolt is removed. During install I also used hi temp RTV on both sides of the gasket just for good measure.

The metal tangs on my mufflers that hook on the body with rubber grommets fractured from vibration after a couple thousand miles. You may want to have the tangs reinforced with gussets welded near their attachments to the mufflers while you have them removed. I found the removal and installation of the side pipes to be straightforward but somewhat awkward to get at the flange bolts from the open hood. If you have a lift, it may be easier to access the bolts from underneath the car.
