BS or no BS?
Had a tow-truck take my Cobra back to Lockhart today, and this guy was in a talkative mood, so he was telling me a story about a guy who went to an auction and bid on some railroad cars and won them for $10k. However, when they opened them up, each had a bunch of crates with ORIGINAL dissassembled Shelby Cobras  -- I think he first said 12, then later said 32. %/ And 2 crates of parts. Says the guy built a house with a underground parking that holds 20 cars, so he builds one per year and sells it for a million bucks. Said this guy was a friend of his.
So here's the fun part -- I asked what this guy's name is, and he responded quite quickly: "Steve Morris". So what's your vote: BS or no BS? My vote is that he heads up the BS society. :3DSMILE: Cheers, -Neil. |
The story, as written, is complete BS. I think he got confused with the story about the Bugattis. There was a guy who got a train load of Bugattis, literally, for around $80,000. In all, I think he got 32 cars of various years, pre 1945's I believe, and various models. 80 grand for 32 vintage Bugattis, sounds like a deal to me. The story is not BS, it was in an issue of Automobile.
